Temperament

Shih Tzu

Shih Tzus were bred for one purpose — companionship. They are calm, loving, and deeply bonded to their families. They rarely show aggression and adapt well to all kinds of households: apartments, houses, families with kids, and seniors living alone. They're the definition of a lap dog.

Maltese

Maltese are sweet and gentle but can have a playful, mischievous streak. They love attention and don't like being left alone for long. They bond closely with one person and can be a little shy around strangers but are generally friendly.

Yorkie

Yorkies have big personalities in tiny bodies. They're confident, bold, and sometimes bossy. They're loyal and entertaining but can be more territorial and vocal than the other two. Their feisty nature makes them less ideal for very young children or first-time owners.

Family Friendliness

Health and Lifespan
